How are insects responding to a changing climate?
Help us find out!
Caterpillars Count is a nationwide community science program that takes place right here on Hogle Zoo grounds! During your next trip to the zoo, join us surveying branches for arthropods like caterpillars, beetles, spiders and more. By collecting data on these critters, you can help us keep track of their abundance and diversity over time.
Caterpillars Count is run by UHZ staff members twice a day, six days a week- with our very own Zoo guests as the scientists behind the whole operation!
If you can’t join us here at the zoo, Caterpillars Count is a great project that you can take part in from home. Learn how you can get involved from your own backyard HERE.
