Enhance your zoo experience by participating in one of our summer animal encounters and experiences. All encounters and experiences are paid enhancements to add to your zoo visit. A portion of all proceeds go towards the continuation of our excellent animal wellbeing and conservation partners around the world. Get up close and personal with our bachelor herd of Hartmann’s mountain zebras, located at the High Desert Oasis exhibit. Learn what their favorite snacks are and feel the difference in their striped fur as you spend time with a zebra keeper right up close to these beautiful bicolored equines.
Recommended for individuals ages 5 and older. Closed-toed shoes are required. Allergens such as hay, grass, and animal dander might be present.

Returns summer 2025. Giraffe populations are declining in most of Africa. By experiencing our giraffe feed, you are helping Utah’s Hogle Zoo support our conservation goals, including contributions to the Giraffe Conservation Fund.

Looking for the VIP treatment at your next zoo visit? Book an exclusive zoo tour or experience with your family and friends and get the most out of your zoo visit. You can even book multiple tours per day and our Education team will create a whole itinerary for you. Zoo tours are recommended for individuals ages 5 years and older. Tours are priced as a flat-rate “per tour” basis for your whole group. Group sizes are dependent on the tour group size limit.
Rhinos have enthralled people around the world for ages. Their thick skin, big bodies, and two horns are easily identified by even the youngest of us. Join us on a behind-the-scenes tour as we explore their barn, make enrichment, prepare their dinner, and see the rhinos up-close during this unique tour. Please wear close-toed shoes. Are you curious about how Utah’s Hogle Zoo cares for the resident lions, warthogs, and meerkats on the African Savanna? During this behind-the-scenes tour, you’ll get to learn about what they eat, how they live, how they fit into the savanna ecosystem, and how our experienced keepers provide excellent wellbeing to these animal residents on the African Savanna.

On this private, behind-the-scenes tour, guests will learn what it takes to care for and feed the tallest animals here at Utah’s Hogle Zoo. This tour is perfect for aspiring zookeepers, giraffe lovers, and anyone curious about what it takes to provide top-quality animal care year-round.

Book a private cart tour and see the zoo before opening! This 2-hour VIP cart tour of the zoo is catered to your group’s interests and is led by one of our expert tour guides in a 7-passenger, open-air golf cart.

Discover what it’s like to be a zoo veterinarian for an afternoon. You’ll tour the zoo’s L.S. Skaggs Animal Health Center, an off-exhibit space located behind the Rocky Shores exhibit not regularly open to visitors. You will have the opportunity to look at x-rays, blood samples, and meet an ambassador animal as you learn how the veterinarians help to maintain unique and individualized health and wellbeing of every resident animal at the zoo.
