ZooLuminate

ZooLuminate is a new after-hours lighting event at Utah’s Hogle Zoo! At ZooLuminate, you will encounter various light sculptures representing wildlife in four distinct areas throughout the zoo: Dazzling Savanna, Neon Jungle, Alpine Forest, and Glowing Garden. Zooluminate displays glow brighter as the night goes on, so grab dinner at The Beastro, visit some animals, and explore ZooLuminate under the stars.

Our new friends are fragile. Please refrain from touching or climbing on the displays.

ZooLuminate is a new after-hours event from 6:30 – 10 PM on select nights March 28- May 26, 2025.

ZooLuminate is a separate ticketed event and is not included with daytime zoo admission. Guests wanting to experience both the zoo and ZooLuminate must exit the zoo at 6 PM and re-enter with ZooLuminate admission at 6:30 PM.

Depending on your group size, we recommend at least an hour and a half to experience the event. Zooluminate displays glow brighter as the night goes on, so grab dinner at The Beastro, visit some animals, and explore ZooLuminate under the stars.

ZooLuminate is an after-hours event featuring animals in a new light. Resident animals may be viewable during daylight hours and weather permitting.

• Make sure to visit the Norma W. Matheson Education Animal Center and the Small Animal Building before sunset! Both buildings will close at 7:30 PM.

• Asian Highlands and Great Apes will be closed during ZooLuminate.
  • Resident animals in Asian Highlands and Great Apes have more specific nighttime routines and requirements. These areas remain closed for all after-hours events. ZooLuminate stretches over 30 acres of the zoo – be sure to check out each themed area, interactive elements, and photo ops! 

Yes, both the Eccles Express and the Conservation Carousel will be operating during ZooLuminate. Tickets are $3 per person per ride.  

Please note:

• Queue lines for the train and carousel may close 15-30 minutes prior to ZooLuminate closing at 10 PM.
• The Eccles Express cannot run when there is rain, ice, or snow on the tracks. 

Yes! ZooLuminate happens rain or shine, so gear up for a night like no other.  ZooLuminate admission tickets are not refundable due to weather.

Yes, you can buy tickets for ZooLuminate at the front gate. However, we recommend buying your tickets online to save time.  

The ZooLuminate Food Passport and LED Glow Cup can be redeemed at any food location inside the park during ZooLuminate. Please have your ticket ready to scan. 

The ZooLuminate Glow Necklace can be redeemed at the Wild Zootique gift shop. 

Yes, you can purchase the ZooLuminate Food Passport online or at any food location during ZooLuminate. 

Yes, ZooLuminate is more fun with friends! Zoo members can use their membership discount to buy tickets for their family and friends.
